This weight check is sadly overdue. But you can’t begrudge me withholding my weight measurements from this public forum of (ridicule?) motherhood. But I have good news. Apparently my alcohol and s’mores diet is working wonders, and I haven’t gained anything. Pass me a daiquiri!

I hesitated even getting on the scale this morning. There’s been no regular exercise in well over a week - unless you count my usual mommy gymnastics. And I’ve been stressed out a whole bunch lately. And when Katie’s stressed, Katie eats. It’s only by the graces of the gods that I don’t have any copious amounts of chocolate in the house, or I’d be up to third trimester weight.

The amazing news is that I somehow lost weight - in fact this morning’s reading was 166! Woohoo! And then I checked myself again just a couple minutes ago to bask in my awesomeness, and now it says I’m 168. Mean. So I’m splitting the difference for today’s weight check and calling it the truth.

It’s been a week and a day since I last embarrassed myself globally by posting my weight for all to mock. I’d say I’ve made what I consider decent progress, considering I’ve decided lately that my afternoon exercise time is better spent sitting on the floor, talking back to Dr. Phil and calling him several names that involve the word, “vagina”. I think it’s about time I get back on track and start pushing myself again. And no more ugly s’more incidents like last night! I promise!

The bacon cheeseburger before the s’mores might’ve been a mistake, too.

While I was pregnant with my daughter I put on a lot of weight - I’m talkin’ mountains of chicken soft tacos and mint Three months and many pieces of cake to gochocolate chip ice cream kind of weight. Truth be told, at the height of my pregnancy I had gained over 60 pounds! (Hey, I’m 5′11″, doesn’t that count for anything?) Much of it came off right after having the baby, but not nearly as much as I hoped.

Peeling off the extra weight seems like it’s taking forever. But I’m committed to keeping on top of it and slimming down to my pre-pregnancy weight - even if it means disclosing to all of you what I really weigh (eek!). I watch what I eat, trying to stick to a 1,600 calorie diet (and consuming at least a little green veg here and there) and drinking lots of water. I’m also working out 5 days a week: 358 reps on a stepper, 50 arm lifts with dumbells, 50 crunches, and 50 leg lifts. Even with all this, progress feels very slow. Here’s my first weight check-in:

Hopefully I’ll have better news to report next week. 160s, here I come!
